Hi stefany000. Welcome to the forums ):P
Take a look at Gimp (http://www.gimp.org/), and Inkscape (http://inkscape.org/screenshots/index.php?lang=en).
Both available on the repositories if you are using Ubuntu. Check the links for downloads for other OSes.
Hope it helps. Come here often and have fun.
Regards.

Gimp is literally the only Linux software that comes even remotely close to Photoshop man. :c

GIMP is the favorite for a lot of people. And maybe the more photoshop-like.

You can do just about anything in GIMP that you can do in PS. Provided you know GIMP as good as PS.

Gimp is definitely a very good alternative to photoshop. I used photoshop for years and switched to gimp in 2008. Also check out the Gimp Plugin Registry. Just browse the plugins and yo should find anything you're looking for!

Whatever happened to Gimp-shop? Did they get a nasty letter from Adobe?

I haven't found anything I can do in Photoshop that I can't do in Gimp.

It does seem that Gimp is the best I've found so far. The only thing I get held up on is the Photoshop Layer Comps. The only reason I have to keep windows or adobe is that one stupid feature...

If you need layer effects or higher bitrates etc that GIMP doesn't have, Photoline works very well in WINE and doesn't cost much. www.pl32.com . I've even gotten colour management working with it.

You don't need a nasty letter from Adobe when all you do is a few customizations for people who just need to pass transition period between two apps. GIMP forks typically have a short life.
