If you're shopping for a smartphone, the Pantech Flex has Linux support so you can transfer photos, music and data between the phone and computer with a USB Cable. You have to set the phone to Connect as Media, Camera or PC Data. The camera setting works without needing to do anything. To transfer Music and other files, You will have to go into the software center and download the gMTP tool. Works nicely, I'm using the latest LTS version, 12.04, and I have AT&T cell phone service.
