I got a second monitor for my main workstation a few months ago, and I'm never going back to having just one.

How many monitors do you have on your primary machine?

One - The laptop at home, but at work I have two - my laptop screen and a nice big monitor. I run windows at work so it's almost the equivilent of multiple desktops. (Yes, I know windows has multiple desktop capabilities in Widows XP, but I'm not comfortable with the implementation - It feels like a hack!)

Own 5, use 2. With ubuntu you really only need 1.

I have two 19" CRT's, and that's where most of my desktop space goes

One display just isn't enough for some apps that I need. Now I need to get myself a laptop, and I don't know how I'll survive with only one display..

Only one, but it's a 42" 1080p display. In reality I hardly use it because I'm always on my notebooks.

I have three at work: 1 19" LCD attached to my XP laptop to extend the desktop, and a second laptop (more like a doorstop :p ) on which I just installed Xubuntu for a playground. :KS

2 on my workstation with a kvm switch so I can switch to the server easily and not have more keyboards and mice around. Dual monitors are the way to go!! I would really miss it if I had to go back to a single.

My desktop has a 15" LCD ( 1024x768 ). It's too small for my needs, but at least it has DVI :). My laptop has a 14-something inch 1400x1050 LCD.

I have one monitor for my primary machine and one monitor for my secondary machine. Both are old 17" CRT monitors.

When my primary monitor(it's now the monitor for my secondary machine) went "bad" I borrowed a monitor from a friend who didn't have any use for it anymore.

About a hundred.
I'm not kidding.

Of course, I live at the back of an electronics repair shop and even in South Africa people are giving 15" monitors away.

They are EVERYWHERE - under the kitchen table, four make up the base of the lounge table, in the hallway. The rest are being rained on right now in the backyard.

Most can be easily repaired, which is the sad thing.

I, on the other hand, have no use for 15" either and are quite happy with one 17". :-)

Same here.

I can never go back to CRT.

I actually like the picture quality from my old CRT flatscreen better then the LCD flatscreen.

Now the LCD flatscreen does look sexier, and the CRT flatscreen looks like a VW bug, both my wife and I enjoy the picture quality better on the big old monitor.

I have yet to make them both work under ubuntu as I've installed opensuse... Ubuntu has gotten me lazy so I'm going back to it so that all my hardware is recognized and little to no work is on my side. I wish windows did that!

I have one Dell 1907FP Ultrasharp threw DVI at 1280x1024 and one Sony trinitron Multiscan 200ES at 1024x768 threw VGA. - This is in windows, and if I can get it running on Ubuntu, then it'll be same there.
