I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 64-bit with a GeForce 8600GTS cloning on 2 screens. Currently using the system driver, not the nVidia. Can anyone think of a reason the mouse pointer would disappear on one screen? I can still see it on one screen but not the other. It just happens randomly and won't come back until I reboot. When I move the mouse, I can still see things light up on the other screen as the mouse passes over them, but no pointer. Any ideas? I think the same thing happened with the nVidia drivers too. I recently did a fresh install and didn't see a reason to put them back in.
