How can I uninstall 12.10 on an old laptop, dual booting with 10.04?

Hi all,

I've messed things up! I have a very old laptop, running smoothly on Ubuntu 10.04, and decided to give a chance to 12.04. It seems awesome, but it is annoyingly slow. Is there any safe way to go back to have it only running Lucid Lynx, and getting back the space partitioned?

I've checked several threads, but all seem to address dual booting with some version of windows.

My computer is a Sony VAio VGN TZ 45FN (I know!)

Quick response, because my day is kind of hellish. Just wanted to thank you, and to tell you that you brought hope to my life :) I just love this old laptop. Can't think of a better keyboard!
