Hello,

I have began to use Ubuntu after years of Windowing, MsDOS, Commodore64.

One thing that is awesome about this OS is the capacity to make it exactly what I want, yes?
In my youth I excelled at programming, later enjoyed a career in semiconductor design analysis.

My ambition is to reform the Cucumber software, but I want to self-contain my design without internet access first.

OK, enough introduction.
I am looking to learn and make a small program to give me my "MetaClock" at a press of a button, for pasting into documents and file names - then a small app to update a database with its prompt.

The thing is I have not programmed in many Years, and face a significant learning curve.
Please direct me to the appropriate development tools anyone who wants a newbie help contribute.

thanks,
KaplerSon.

Thanks for responding, the article I found very helpful.

"
Note that the scenario is not meant to test one particular controller, model, library or other element of the code. Rather,
the scenario should represent a particular action from the user's perspective,
which might cover one controller and one model, or a dozen of each."

This is essentially what struck me in the Summer2011 when I found Cucumber.

At that time my design was largely conceptual.
I was working with two processes in a four step logical relationship - one for the system, one for the User.

But all my development effort was concerned with the User application, making it something real.
My idea all along was to create a coordination system for an economy of living matter, with "value added" for coding or home-schooling,
eventually the world's children governing the financial markets with their education and the mechanism.
I was not concerned with writing code at that point, and had no idea the User-Computing revolution was happening.

A little background.
I was living on a homestead, off the grid, raising chickens and growing a garden.
We had a bucket of honey. All Summer I ate cucumbers with peanut butter and honey, it was great.

And so that fateful day I decided to travel to use the Internet, in order to make &cucumber.
&cucumber being a &tag with the system that would add value onto my cucumbers that I mechanize with media and sell.

I type in "cucumber", and what comes up is precisely the technological concept that I needed, unbelievable but also profound.

There is more to that story, I will post again with technical questions.

My initial inquiry is about a little Ubuntu app. Would I use C++? I have no idea, the curve looks steep.

With respect to Cucumber, the concept is this:
* Feature defined with understanding of [[PatentConcept]]
* StepOneElement from previous iteration
* StepTwoElement becomes StepOneFeature through a "human contingency"
* StepTwoFeature generated with any parameters, then the next human button-push
* so on through an iterative process that builds and self-shapes

[[PatentConcept]] is radical - a singular permutation of logic that defines the User-system relationship (at once with PUSH-POP),
governing levels of possible development complexity for all four steps.

“Pickling” is the process whereby a Python object hierarchy is converted into a byte stream,"

Good to know.

Of course additional complexities arise, I do not usually think of it in terms of Element-Feature.
One would need a "super-Feature", and a "master-Feature" and "complete-Feature", as well complementary sub-elements to keep track in the consequent steps.

It would actually be better to think of their respective relationships first.

But if I were to post it here, how it actually works, the beautiful simple concept, no doubt someone would utilize it for profit, porn, stupidity... sigh.

cukes.info explains it runs "until the money runs out".

I used to have that Indian-woman poster, about how only when all the cucumbers are gone will we learn that money can't be eaten!

if you're interested about how to create a C++ application using Cucumber-like rules, then the following link might be of some interest for you:

Thanks, it brought a degree of confidence, perhaps like that movie "the Matrix" where the hero "downloads" his skills without any work - ha ha.

More seriously, I have a meeting with a government representative today, the Ministry of Training.
There is a business plan I can share with anyone, but I can not send it to many people there is a process.

-------------------------
From my log, about writing itself - I am required to write about all the things I have done in my life for an official resume-creation process:

---
Recently I compiled together a professional business plan document, divided into three parts:

a traditional written business plan
a statement periodically produced from a technological iteration of a writing process
an executive statement on the state of the system

Whereas this is not entirely true, it is with the purpose of this page: to explain the things I did.

Technologically the statement is on the state of PRINT, levels of self-referential model exchange with the system like the revolutionary Cucumber software, however interconnected with the [[PatentConcept]]. Two ways to think about it: business application or this technical description; most of my writing concerns development details essential for such design consideration of my invention.

I think I have a mission definition, was that a category? No, it was an inner vision trick, like a good Dog serving God I am proud to say because otherwise tricks can mean quite bad things in life. In any case there is a mission now: to Pickle the Cucumber. Unbelievably at first these are both trade names of programming tools best appropriate to utilize for building block “Elements” for this “Feature”.

In business executive terms (rather then only executing the computer code), my immediate mission is to ensure that my needs are met without disturbing the utmost importance of Pickle^Cucumber^ with legal exchange of money that is contrary to system design, explain with appropriate analogy.

------

For this collective post the analogy is NOTHING. With the government-funded worker today I will use a living systems metaphor.

p.s. I bow in all humbleness to those who work with self-referential Cucumber apps.
