Hi,

I'm seeing conflicting info on the web regarding when automatic security fixes support ends for 10.04 Desktop.

Some, like the Ubuntu Wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LTS), say it ends after 5 years, which would be in April 2015.

Others adhere to the original statements from Canonical and say it will end in April 2013, like this chart (http://superuser.com/questions/425430/what-happens-when-the-support-for-ubuntu-lts-stops).

Which is correct?

Thank you for your help.

PS- I understand that all sources say that 12.04 Desktop will have 5 years of support. Thanks.

April of 2013 is for the desktop version and april of 2015 is for the server.

The Server 10.04 LTS version is supported until 2015, the desktop packages will not be supported past April 2013

Both links tell you the same thing. Desktop 2013, server 2015

The LTS version of Ubuntu 10.04 is supported for three years for desktop releases and five years for server releases; from Ubuntu 12.04 onwards, LTS support will be for five years (http://www.h-online.com/news/item/Canonical-extends-Ubuntu-12-04-LTS-desktop-support-1365034.html) on both desktop and server. Ubuntu 10.04 LTS will continue to receive maintenance updates and security fixes until April 2013 on desktops and April 2015 on servers. Standard releases provide 18 months of updates for both the desktop and server versions; Standard releases from 13.04 on will be supported for nine mouths.

Thank you all so much.

So that chart I saw on the Ubuntu Wiki (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LTS) was incorrect. <--- Oh, I see, my bad. That chart is correct! I could not distinguish the subtle color differences it employed.

Thanks again.

No, it is correct, as has been said, you have misread it.

Thank you, Howefield. I was unable to detect the subtle differences in the colors employed in that chart. My bad.

Isn't very easy to see at all is it :(

I thought you were jokingly referring to the orange and purple.

I guess whoever chose those two colours was young/ not needing glasses ;)
