Im having problems writing the Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS 64-bit iso to usb. I use a program called Win32DiskImager. When the ISO is written to the USB it says 0.14mb free out of 2.10mb. But when using 32-bit ISO it says 6.74/7.45GB free or it doesn't say anything at all. I'm not sure about the 6.74, i don't exactly remember it.
