View Full Version : Help with Emulator Box set up

Metonymy

Background: I work at a daycare center, and we received a donation of some old repo PC's from the police department. We want to try to turn them into an arcade for the kids. (There are 12 computers, most are dells circa late 90's early 2000's)

Problem is, none of the PCs are able to connect to the internet, and everything we've tried to get emulator front ends or emulator software at all seems to require a direct connection to the internet. We can get ubuntu 9.04 to work shockingly well, but have a few issues getting emulators on the machine, since many require an internet connection for setup.

Does anyone have additional recommendations with what emulators or programs to try? Since this is really old hardware, outdated stuff would work fine. Ideally I am looking for a program with a frontend so the kids can just hit the power button, pick a game, and play. Any help is appreciated! I am happy to get more info if that would be helpful!

Thank you for your time! :)
