I've been trying for the last 6 years to find a ubuntu version that did not break when doing updates. I recently tried xubuntu. If I move a window, browser or terminal, it logs me out of the session. So, I tried Kubuntu. It does the same thing. But only these two ubuntu derivatives.

I have xubuntu installed on Asus g75. Has anyone reported this behavior? Any ideas on how to fix?

thanks

I always stick to the LTS editions. The "regular" editions seem like beta software, with new users unknowingly and unwillingly used as guinea pigs. The LTS versions are built from Debian Testing, and the regular releases are built from Debian Unstable. That suggests (but of course, doesn't guarantee) that the LTS versions are safer and less likely to be broken by some random update. Try installing Xubuntu 12.04.2 and see if you have better luck with it as I have.
