Hello, I appreciate you people reading this question I need help.
I have followed the installation process correctly and nothing was halted, however after the second boot this is what happens :

Bios loads
Some message saying "Press ESC for menu" after this loads, a screen with some stuff loading and with [OK] on the right side appears. At LAST a prompt appears asking for my ubuntu login and password. I enter the information I created in the installation process but after that the only thing I get is a login@ubuntu$ and a message that says "You have mail".

I don't know what to do from here, I am new to Linux but I guess I am tricky with computers. I don't seem to see any graphic environment.
I have been reading and my guess is I have to set up a root account? but I am not sure.
Would someone please help me a little bit? I hope this is a common problem easy to solve.

Thanks a lot !
