Hi,

earlier today I rebooted unbuntu. It gave me one extra of everything i.e. there were two 'applications' and 'places' menus, two of everything else. When I opened a program it opened twice.

I've rebooted a couple of times since and it's added one of everything each time. I am currently on four of everything. Here's a print screen 9you can't see all four applications and places because it's shortened them). There are also black bars underneath and above at the top and bottom of the screen.

Here's an image of my current desktop: http://oi49.tinypic.com/2l97bwk.jpg

I've been using Linux since October and this has never happened. Any ideas how to fix it?

Thanks

Install the dconf Editor and try the following
killall gnome-panel See the link for additional command options. http://askubuntu.com/questions/125662/how-to-reset-gnome-panel
