Hi guys, I hope you can help me.

I tried installing the latest Ubuntu (12.10 64 bit) to an SD card on my new Surface Pro, however because it gave an error after rebooting I had to recover using the Windows 8 recovery USB drive.

Anyway, after doing a full wipe of the Surface's SSD and reinstalling Windows 8 I still have an "ubuntu" boot loader entry, under "Use a device". I've tried everything to get rid of this and I'm almost ready to pull my hair out mainly because I don't know what's causing it to persist across full re-installs.

Do you guys have any ideas at what could be causing this, is it something in the EFI firmware? It can't be an invalid entry on the EFI system partition as that has been fully wiped.

Thanks in advance
