I am putting together a plan to deploy tablets in a fleet of work vehicles. I was excited when I learned that Ubuntu is actively involved in the tablet PC medium, and would like to include it in the solution that I am putting together.
It is absolutely critical that I have a method of disabling the tablets that will be installed in these work vehicles if they are moving. I am wondering if anyone here might know of a method or program that I could use to accomplish this. Of course, I suppose I could always look into developing a service that will run in the background that will poll the GPS device in the tablet to detect any movement. However, I figure it will save me quite a bit of time and effort if there is already something available that will allow me to accomplish this.
I currently do not have any particular tablet selected yet, so no hardware caveats need to be taken into consideration in finding a solution. Any references or advice that can be offered is appreciated.
