Processor Issues.

So, My desktop has a PLGA775 socket on it, but I want to upgrade to a processor which is just a regular LGA775.

Do you all forsee any real issues? (I don't want to hear about theoretical danger really, Just let me know if it will work. :P )

Motherboard make & model?

I was under the impression that the PLGA refers to how the CPU is packaged and not related to the socket on the MB.

It may be, I just wasn't 100% sure, and I'd like to know before I sink $80 into a new processor. (Which I suppose is fairly cheap by Intel standards, but by general mondey standards, that's still pretty expensive.)
