I'm not sure whether this is in the right category but anyway

Basically, I don't know what I did, but now most of the themes on ubuntu 12.10 look really buggy. Here is a screencast (recorded with gtk-recordmydesktop at 720p :))

Please help asap as it's really annoying!

Thank you in advance

The ambiance colors pack is not Gnome 3.6/12.10 compatible and that is stated at Gnome Look. If you are using a PPA to install themes make sure they are for Gnome 3.6 which 12.10 uses. While some 3.4 themes work in 3.6 I would avoid them for best results.

Also, are you using a proprietary graphics drivers ? I ask because the fonts look funny in the video and if there is a driver available in software sources > additional drivers I would consider installing it.

Ok, btw I use intel graphics 3000 with the drivers that come with ubuntu. The problem may be caused by a random ppa for some software ppa giving me some 13.04 themes and therefore screwing things up (not one ment for 13.04 updates & stuff)? The fonts being weird is caused by the screencap software.

It's ok now,

I've updated to 13.04 and it works fine :)

(btw i'm not an ubuntu noob like my number of beans suggest, i've been using it since 2006)
