Hi, newbie here.
I'm trying to install a dual boot of Ubuntu on my mid 2007 MacBook (Intel Core 2 Duo). I was following the instructions here http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2011/10/dual-boot-os-ubuntu.
When I try to boot from the dvd on which I have burned the disk image (ubuntu-12.04.2-desktop-amd64.iso) I get a black screen saying the following:
1.
2.
Select CD-ROM Boot type:
My keyboard does not work, I can't select either 1 or 2, and I have to turn my computer off to start it again. This situation has been reported a lot on various message boards, but I havn't yet found a solution that works.
This page (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacPro) appears to indicate that perhaps I need a different ubuntu download for my laptop because it is an older Intel Mac, the link it provides is broken however.
Please could anyone suggest where I might find an appropriate Ubuntu download that will allow me to make a working Ubuntu install disk, or suggest any other possible solutions to the problem? Thanks in advance.
