using ubuntu minimal install, with the following packages installed:

software-properties-common
kde-plasma-desktop
xorg
nvidia-current
kmix
synaptic
chromium
ark

Where can I find Siege 2.74 deb or a ppa to install on ubuntu?

sudo apt-get install siege, installs 2.70

I would like to try 2.74, there was a bugfix that should hopefully solve my problem.

Is my only option to compile it myself? would prefer to install from deb or by adding a ppa.

thanks for any help.

Depends... What version Ubuntu you are running? 12.04 and 12.10, there is Siege v2.70 as a package. In 13.04 alpha server... I know v2.70 is still on that install iso.

As a tar to build yourself though, Siege's Home download page... Look towards the bottom of the page:
