How soon with we be able to buy a Nexus 7 with Ubuntu pre-installed?
Will the tablet UI be an option for the x86 version of Ubuntu? This would be very useful for people who have older x86 tablets, like those manufactured by Fujitsu.

1. Probably never. Nexus 7 is a google designed tablet. IMO it is very unlikely that google will allow for it's hardware to be sold with ubuntu. It is only used as a development device. In the future other tablets will be sold with Ubuntu pre-installed.

2. Well the tablet UI will run on future x86 tablets. I guess you could port the tablet UI to your older tablet, depending on drivers etc.

Unless Ubuntu gets some OEM support it may be similar to what happens now where you choose to install it. Remember that ASUS is the company who built the Nexus 7 tablet, so Ubuntu could partner similarly to offer a barebones tablet with Ubuntu.

Really if they get a 7" and 10" high spec, low cost tablet like Google has done that would be good enough. Theres not really a reason for every company to be on board.
