I use firefox 18.0.2 in ubuntu 12.04 and I have addons: no script, adblockplus, betterprivacy, click and clean and apparmor enabled. Though I try to visit only safe websites sometimes I suffer from confusion whether some activity had resulted in security problem. While registering and activating my account with an website I had to click on a link they provided in an email. How do I know this action had created any problem or not? What type of messages are expected in system log files in such cases?

Why do you think clicking a link to activate an account with a website would cause a security issue? Browser traffic is not recorded anywhere outside of the browser.

I was just asking if there is any problem. Sometimes we are warned not to click on any link provided in a suspicious email. This is perhaps one way bank accounts are hacked. So may be my browser or operating system related info may get stolen this way. But my knowledge is very limited.

That usually means not clicking on links in unsolicited emails. If you can confirm the source, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.
