I have been using Ubuntu 12.04 for some months, till I realised that I had some serious security issues, which involved, for example, being unable to install any new programs, seeing files unable to open even as root in my directories etc. So, I tried to format the machine and, although at first it was unable to see my hard drives, after a few tries it got successful. Then, I had a new installation, but as soon as I connected it to the internet and tried to get a new application from it, a program started auto-downloading itself and blocked downloading of the application selected by me. So, thought that something was wrong and tried to re-format the machine, although that was a too fast and useless move, eventually. So, on trying to re-format, I get stuck to the same infinite loop with all linux distributions I have tried (all of them workable and tried before), which results in the machine being unable to even run a live cd. So, no OS installed and nothing running on it anymore.
Could this be a security issue? Is there anyway to get a way to have a hard drive locked to a situation where nothing new can be installed on it or even run on it at all? Is there any way to fix it, since nothing can run on it now?
