CNN and other sites, you click a link and it shows up in the address. It can really slow down the CNN site, maybe on popular stories as it is "waiting for traffic.outbrain.com"

Is there something can be done about this? Block it? What is it?
I went to CNN, clicke a site about sewage running down walls of ship and had to wait for about 2 minutes for traffic.outbrain.com

Googling showed some people noticing this behavior

Most of the time traffic outbrain com incidents on web sites are not so slow and I tolerate it.

You can block scripts, too. If you're using Chrome then install NotScripts (https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/notscripts/odjhifogjcknibkahlpidmdajjpkkcfn). The counterpart in Firefox is NoScripts (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/noscript/). These extensions block all the javascripts, including some 3rd party ads, from executing. It can also break websites that can't function properly without javascript, so it takes some getting used to.
