here is a couple Links for UBUNTU 12.04 NON-PAE Install. I Have personally only Tested the one from people.canonical.com. Installs & works just like Regular Ubuntu 12.04

Errrr, you erred just there, I believe.

If the computer is so old that it does not support PAE in its CPU (processor), it is more mainstream and advised to just use Xubuntu or Lubuntu as they are non-PAE by default. They are also much more lightwieght on said CPU, especially Lubuntu. (difference in desktop environments, Xfce and LXDE are light.)

Not that old Dell Latitude D600 Pentium-M with 2Gb of Ram, only bad about is the 32mb for graphics. I plan getting Newer laptop at some point anyways.
