I have an original CR-48 Chromebook.....the keyboard has a few dead keys but is otherwise still working. I like the Chrome OS and have tried Ubuntu on it but am wondering if anyone has some creative ideas for how to breathe new life into this platform ??

Fix or replace the keyboard would be a good start.

With the USB it should be easy enough to add USB devices (using a hub, or my wife has a single unit for her wireless mouse that could also run a wireless keyboard if we were to get one). Add a monitor and you've got a virtual chromebox.
