Every time I refresh or try to log in that rectangular window show up asking me for a user name and password.

Till the moment this is only happening in interpals.net

A username and password are being requested by http://sloft-us.ip static.net. The site says:

Any idea? Phishing?
How I block that?

Thank you

;)

This also happened to me today. My uneducated layman's opinion was that it was a host login of some sort.

Thread moved to Security Discussions.

Please use descriptive thread titles to improve your chances of help. 'What is this?' tells us nothing about your issue and many would-be helpers will overlook.

I've edited your thread title for these reasons.

Good luck.

I noticed you had adblockplus enabled (though should not be a problem)
but not knowing what others extensions you have in your browser , try restarting your browser in safe mode and see if the problem still exists.
And also see if java is enabled.

My guess is the site uses Java and that popup is a result of the browser's new java settings. Look at your java plugin settings.

That looks like an authorisation requirement to go onto whichever page you are trying to reach. It is not your computer wanting the authorisation; it is the website. Possibly, the website designer has made a mistake and put an image or some code into a secure area of the website.

Their latest ad campaign is "Java. Because who doesn't love remote code execution?"

Okay, huys:
In my foolness of not understanding an ato of Java, etc., I re-formatted my computer, changed e-mail and passwords, and the problem stopped.

The authorisation requirement windows only happened to be in the Interpals website. But that was teh first time ever it happened.

Anyway, thank you to everybody replied to my questions.
Thank you

:P
