If I want to create a bootable version of Linux on a USB thumb drive, is there any difference or preference for creating the bootable USB drive from the Unetbootin program or the Startup boot creator application that is on the Ubuntu system/administration menu ?

Thanks.

Hi wpshooter.

I've always had better luck with unetbootin, though others have the opposite experience.

Hi wpshooter.

I've always had better luck with unetbootin, though others have the opposite experience.

Handsdown:

I decided to try both.

Turns out the Unetbootin created USB boots much faster than the version created with the built in Ubuntu startup boot creator.

Also, the startup boot creator version seems to do some weird things.

So, am going to stick with Unetbootin.

Thanks.
