I'm pretty sure 13.04 will come with a newer GNOME 3.

There may be a PPA available for 12.04 but they are always use at your own risk. I use 12.10 with the Gnome Shell 3.6 as one of my desktop environments. As written 13.04 may have 3.7.

When I write shell I refer to the desktop environment not the underling version of Gnome.

Is your system stable??

My up to date Ubuntu 13.04 has Gnome 3.6.2. Ubuntu will not go to Gnome 3.7 as that is for development purposes. Odd-numbered Gnome environments are development environments. The next stable release of Gnome will be 3.8 and that will come out too close to the 13.04 release
date to be included. But you never know.

Ubuntu 12.04 has Linux kernel 3.2.0 series. Ubuntu 12.10 has Linux kernel 3.5.0 series. Ubuntu 13.04 has Linux kernel 3.8.0 series. Testing has been done to see how well the 3.5.0 kernel will work on 12.04. Wait until 12.04 gets the 3.5.0 series kernels (any time soon). It will be less risky.

I would recommend installing 12.04 in another partition and experimenting with it and not with your normal Ubuntu installation. It is an experiment. Mess up your OS and you may need to re-install. Better to experiment on another install of Ubuntu that you do not mind breaking.

Regards.

SO what you are suggesting is to experiment with the ubuntu 13.04 when a stable version of 12.10 is there which means it is not recommended, right??
Am a dual boot user and can't mess up more!! Even though i hate windows!! I like to use it for some things that i love in those apps!! ( Still hate windows :D :D )

Thanks for the reply, I will maybe experiment with the ubuntu 12.10 . .
