Can I install Pear OS on Acer's chromebook?

I was looking at the acer chromebook online and was thinking it could make a nice hacbook. So I was wondering if I could install an OS on it that isn't ChrUbuntu.
Can I install Pear or Elementary OS on it?
Could I remove Chrome OS from it?
Also which one is better Pear or Elementary?
