Hi,
I have tried to install ubuntu 3 times now on my Samsung Chromebook Series 5 Model number XE500C21. I have followed all the stages as per found on the Internet.
1. I go into developers mode by moving the switch and D2 and ctrl alt and forward arrow
2. I log in as Chronos
3. I run Sudo Bash and then the firmware update
4. After rebooting, I log back to dev using Chronos
5. I run sudo bash again and then the wget command
6. I am asked about the drive partition in which I select 9
7. After reboot, I connect to wifi and log back into Chronos
8. The Ubuntu files start to download which takes about 15 mins
9. When it completes, the chromebook switches off.
10. When I reboot, I am expecting to see Ubuntu there as my desktop OS, but instead it is the ChromeOS again.
I have actually run the recovery SD card to bring the machine back to the complete non-partitioned factory state and tried to do it again but the same result. According to the internet, installing on a Chromeboom is easy, but I don't have that experience yet.
What can I do to get Ubuntu onto my Samsung series 5 Chromebook??
Thanks Donal.
