I successfully installed ChrUbuntu 12.04 and then installed the gnome desktop environment that I like. Everything went fine. Today I thought I would check out Kubuntu. During installation, I opted for installing the kdm window manager when I was given a choice between gdm, kdm, or lightdm.

Every time I boot, it goes to the Kubuntu login, and will not automatically log in my user name, although I went into Kubuntu and entered my password. I have selected Gnome as my desktop to load. When it loads, I need to insert my password again for the keyring. Synaptic Package Manager will not load, only Muon Package Manager.

I searched for ways to remove Kubuntu and the few that I found did not work.

So, can I remove the Kubuntu desktop that I installed this morning and go back to the working ChrUbuntu 12.04 desktop?
