I've got a flatscreen TV set up as a second monitor but it is mounted above my monitor and not next to it. I would like to be able to make the desktop be extended vertically and not horizontally because of this. I am able to do so but draging anything into the extended area doesn't work. The mouse point keeps going up but the application stops at the top of the first desktop. When the extended desktop is set up to the right of the primary it functions fine. I had the same issue on Archlinux. (using nvidia prop drivers on both BTW). I don't know if its a gnome issue or nvidia or what. Using unity i had a bit more success but it was random. (terminal would go up to second desktop but other programs wouldnt). Does anyone know if this is possible or should i stop trying.
