I've had Ubuntu for years. I'm a user, not a geek however.
Updated to 12.10 a while back.
Did a fresh install 2 days ago because box was running very slow.
Now YouTube videos are blurry and constantly start and stop while playing.
We use to have a 'ctrl+alt+del' one time to see what was going on.
How can I access that now?
Any ideas on why videos are now having problems?
Deleted and reinstalled Firefox 18.0.1.

Any info helpful,

My thoughts are to drop back to the LTS (12.04). I think its more stable and has 5 years of support. And be sure to install the restricted extras when you do :)

Do I need to download 12.04?
Or, how is that done without loosing installed programs?

I backup my installed app's with a markings list that is built with synaptic package manager, but there are several ways to do this.

You could try installing the Flashaid add-on for Firefox.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/flash-aid/?src=ss

Run FlashAid and it should get you the latest or most stable version of Flash
