Best Music App for Android Phone?

Hi All, I'm looking to get a new music playing app for my HTC smart phone running some version of Android (maybe Ice Cream Sandwich?) because the native music app sucks harder than words can describe. My primary problems with it are the fact that it erases the contents of playlists basically whenever it feels the need, and frequently can't get all the music on the SD card when I'm on airplane mode. Is there an analog to some linux program on Android? I would post on a Droid-specific forum, but I think I'll get more educated opinions here.

Though, I only tried it briefly, since my phone doesn't have excess storage (Samsung Galaxy Ace); I've returned to stock media player.
