After I install ubuntu, because I get these lines right after booting after the fresh install.

When I try to boot a Live CD/Live USB it stops and freezes when it detects my hard drives.

Any thoughts?

Did you turn off UEFI and Fast boot in your BIOS?

Strange, I've the same motherboard, a FX 8150 cpu and 6870 graphics, but I've never seen that before. It may be a problem with the chipset or graphics drivers.
Have you tried with other linux distros?

I have an old nVidia card and have to use nomodeset until I get nVidia driver installed.
