I installed Ubuntu 12.10 new install just 3-4 weeks ago. It comes with unity.

I'm having trouble reading Pashto in the browsers or the title bars. The letters that are in addition to Arabic don't connect and change shapes. To me it seems like a font problem. Perhaps the default font in the browsers does not support Pashto? I tested on many websites and apparently it only works fine on BBC Pashto page. They might be using a different font that supports Pashto but website which aren't declaring a font to use, the website picks up the default font and it doesn't work properly.

How can we fix this issue?

The Pashto specific letters don't seem to connect while the ones common with Arabic language do.

ok apparently it's the font and the webpage that is the issue. The webpage design says to look for a certain font which is not present in ubuntu so it picks up another font.

I don't think it's a solution but a workaround would be to go into Edit menu in firefox select preferences. In content tab, click on Advanced button in front of "Fonts & colors", uncheck "allow pages to show their own font". This way you'll force the page to show the fonts that you've selected above in the same window.
