How to install language on Cinnamon

I installed Cinnamon on my 12.04LTS.

I cannof find how to install additional keyboard language for Cinnamon.

Any pointers would be appreciated.

preferences does not have a "keyboard layout" entry. It has a keyboard, and under keyborad there's no tab for "layout".

I did find "keyboard layout" in "system settings" which I believe is a gnome thing, yet it worked for adding a new language.

How odd. I click on the Cinnamon Menu, select Preferences, and there are over 50 possibilities, one of which is "Keyboard Layout." I'm running Mint 13 with the latest version of Cinnamon, from a backports repository.
