As the title suggests, does ubuntu offer s-video support?
I have a computer hooked up to my tv but since my tv does not have vga/dvi in and my pc only has vga/svideo out, I used an s-video to rca cable to connect to my tv.
Works fine on windows, but I'd like to run ubuntu.
I now have a disc with ubuntu 12.10, but when I boot from it the screen turns black and my tv mutters something about "mode not supported".
I'm guessing it has to do with ubuntu lacking drivers since windows runs fine out of the box.
I would try installing using a pc monitor but before I go through the trouble of moving the monitor, installing ubuntu, switching back to tv...I'd like to ask if it is even worth it.
Or, if drivers are indeed available but not loaded by default, can they be added to the disc files.
Edit; come to think of it, it may very well be a resolution problem. I have a 32" samsung lcd.
Is there a way to set the default resolution on the disc before loading it?
Is that controlled by a config file that can be altered before burning the disc?
