auto detect dual monitor acting weird

Hi All,

i have little bit problem.
im using notebook thinkpad edge and always hook it up with dell monitor 17" at office.
using ubuntu 12.10

i believe since yesterday update ... it wont detect smoothly if I plug the external monitor.

before update :
it will detect automatically both monitor perfectly ..

after update :
it will make my laptop display only 4:3 (supposed to be 16:9)
and the external monitor resolution slightly small than it supposed to be.
i have to open display, manually edit ...
even then, the external monitor still cannot be fix into optimum resolution.

any help would be appreciated.
