Hello,

I successfully installed 12.10 on the iSSD of my laptop ( it is a 24 GB SSD that is solder onto the motherboard) . I have 1 big problem :

I am not presented with a boot menu, in either Ubuntu or Window when i boot,

I have installed Grub2 on the sdb/ , which is where the Ubuntu installation sits ( sda is where window 8 sit). I ran update-grub in terminal, but i still am not presented with a boot menu to selct which OS to boot.

The laptop is UEFI.

Did you install Ubuntu in UEFI mode or BIOS mode?
Systems need quick boot or fast boot turned off in UEFI settings. Vital for some systems.

Post the link to the BootInfo report that this creates. Is part of Boot-Repair:

Boot Repair -Also handles LVM, GPT, separate /boot and UEFI dual boot.:

You can repair many boot issues with this or 'Create BootInfo' report (Other Options) & post the link it creates, so we can see your exact configuration and diagnose advanced problems.
Install in Ubuntu liveCD or USB or Full RepairCD with Boot-Repair (for newer computers)
