View Full Version : [ubuntu] 12.10. Latitude E6500. Wifi. Install (wifi good), Update (wifi gone).

I have not gotten around to troubleshooting this yet, but regressions always makes my hair stand up. It sucks.
Dell latitude e6500 .. some broadcom wifi .. worked perfectly during setup, worked perfect upon first boot, updated a mere 300 megs of updates, a reboot was required : wifi dead .. dead as in, "hardware not there".
Just wanted to share my usability experience.

fixed with

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-generic
sudo apt-get install --reinstall bcmwl-kernel-source

but ffs, next time i get a kernel update from 'buntu .. im screwed again.. Unless fixed of course, but cmon, look at the bug report.
