help black screen

i recently installed ubuntu and when the computer restarted all i got was a black screen the computer has a gforce chip in it and i heard there was some problems with compatibility and something had to be modified but i cant even get the grub up nothing works any more any advice would be useful thank you

If you have an external GPU, turn off your computer, unplug it, and disconnect your GPU and boot into the computer again. That's what fixes it for me and some of my friends who also use GeForce GPUs. As for getting it so it can continue to use your GPU, you will have find the Linux drivers for your GPU and install them.

its internal and i have no idea what brand literally all the logo is is a rectangle black box
