I am not a mac guy or a Ubuntu guy. I am trying to install it on my wife's old ibook 700 that is just laying around. I have burnt multiple DVDs and setup usb drives as per all directions i can find on the website and the forum. When i reboot the mac holding down the option button neither will show up. I have searched the forum and I am sure i am missing the answer to my question. Any help on getting this installed would be great. i am very interested in digging into a Linux distro. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

are you using a powerpc version of ubuntu? Also, that is quite an old mac so might I suggest Lubuntu.... might work better on a 10+ year old machine.
EDIT: you may also want to check if that machine even has a DVD drive in it..... Might just be CD

the link to the powerpc download section
I should also mention that that machine (as far as I can remember) is not capable of booting via usb. disk is your only route.
