What happened when you clicked on the link?

More than likely it has done nothing to your system but it might be a good idea to dump your temporary internet files for whatever Web Browser you were using at the time.

Hi, it went to a blank page with something like 'not available' or link not working' 'could not open/find'. I've now installed Clam in the Terminal (have the terminal window open now and it is saying : "ldconfig deferred processing now taking place"
So is it now scanning my machine or do I need to do something to make it run?

Thanks for the help!

I use Clam also but I use the GUI version ClamTk...

Most if not all of the Linux Antivirus programs scan for and detect Windows Viruses to protect any Windows based computers that you may share files with.
So anything that is detected by Clam probably would have had no effect on you computer anyways.

Your anti virus may not have detected it. Also it could be a Trojan or rootkit, again your anti virus may not have detected it. Let's hope this is not the case. Didn't show a zip file for me just took me to a page which would not render.

A common trick of malware writers and scammers is to make their emails look like they're coming from a legitimate source, sometimes more successfully than others.

If something like this arrives out of the blue that there will nearly always be some kind of clue present that something's not quite right, even if the email claims to be from an organization that might reasonably be expected to contact you.
