change window manager, change passowrd ?!

Hi all,
i currently changed desktop window manager in cairo-dock.
I can't use terminal because my root password is not yet valid.
why ? i never change my root password in ubuntu.
how to update my root password in cairo dock ?
Same problem for e17. Is installed and all ok but i can not use for same problem with password at the login.

Hello and Welcome

Having tried both E17 and the Cairo session I never had any password problem although in E17 I used Xterm . I don't quite understand because the Cairo Dock Session uses Compiz and is different than using the dock alone.


how to update my root password in cairo dock ? There should be no password change required when using the terminal in different desktop sessions. You might want to add some information about your user and administrative account settings.
