Hi,

I just installed Ubuntu 10.10 form an old DVD I had around (dual boot with Windows 7) I figured it would be easier to just install and update then to burn a new DVD. Turned out I wasn't actually able to update it to the newest version, so I went back to Windows 7 my network wasn't working, when I went to the network connections I saw that the LAN connection kept trying to connect then saying the Network cable was unplugged.

I had the same problem happen a long time ago on an older computer, and the "solution" was to change the Speed&Duplex setting to 10mbps Full Duplex, any other setting doesn't work. I never accosiated this problem with Ubuntu before and thought it was just a faulty network adapter. But now that it happened again, right after installing Ubuntu, it can't be just a coincidence.

Does anyone know why this is happening and how can I fix it?
