I'm using 12.04 since the day of its launch (because it was LTS). It always gets heated pretty much and the normal temperature is around 60 degrees. I managed by using a cooler for this overheating which brought it to around 50 degrees. But now my cooler has damaged and i'm back to the 60-65 degrees. Searching in the net i found this link which told me to apply some patches form the lkml site.
http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=linux_aspm_solution
the lkml link is:
https://lkml.org/lkml/2011/11/11/178
Now i want to apply those patches. but i don't have the linux 3.2 source with the OS. How to apply those patches and build the kernel from the source in the existing pc.
