Hi,

I'm trying to install Ubuntu 12.10 to a laptop from USB. When I boot from the USB I get to the menu with the options for live mode, installation, etc. When I select install from the menu I end up at a black screen unless I use nomodeset. If I use nomodeset I end up at a command prompt like this - http://i.imgur.com/LwK2d.jpg

EDIT: When I scroll up the page there is an error message "udevd[123]: '/sbin/modprobe -bv pci:v00008086d00000116sv0000103Csd000017F8bc03sc00 i00' [231] terminated by signal 9 (Killed)" which points towards the Intel HD Graphics 3000 as the cause.

Any ideas on how I can get it correctly installed?

Thank you
