Folks,

Environment: Ubuntu 12.04 minimal + openbox

On our machines, we don't want the screen to go blank at all. I have added the following line in autostart:

xset -dpms s off

However, I have been receiving complaints that on some machines the screen is still going blank after some time of inactivity. I am wondering if anyone has any insight on what could be happening. Is there a log file somewhere that I can look at?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Peter

I've noticed a few threads in the last little while about xset not blanking properly. Have a look at this thread for one possible solution: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2098422.
