Hello everybody,
I read in a magazine about ubuntu. At the end the recommendation of the author is to make always a new installation of ubuntu because during the process there are many possible failures.

I'm interested in your opinions, how do you do it and what experience you have with the upgrade process?

Greetings mabox

Hi mabox

To upgrade you would have to go to 11.04 and it reached its EOL last year, so you can't. Its fresh install for you. 12.04 is LTS and supported until 2017.

Hi ibjsb4,
Thanks for your answer. I know, e.g. from 10.10 to 12.10 is a new installation necessary.
But my interesting was, if you have for example 12.04 and want upgrade to 12.10.
The author in the magazin recommended always a new installation, but I can not believe. I never had problems with a upgrade.
