Can find the food perfectly inside a maze, also takes the optimal path towards a food source, ignoring less optimal paths.

And it also has a chemical memory.

In past I have read even bacteria will actively swim away from dangerous to them areas and towards areas which help them survive.

So the tiny creature like a slime mold can find its way around likely better than you given the same situation. Presenter says slime molds could be used to plan routes for roads.

Now how can it possibly know exactly which route to take in a maze?

I first heard of slime mo(u)ld and its apparent intelligence in the late 1980s. Now where did I put that book where it's mentioned?
